Dr Hans-Peter Vornlocher

Hans-Peter studied biology at the University of Erlangen, Germany. After receiving his PhD in biochemistry from the University of Bayreuth, Germany, he spent three years as a postdoc at the University of California in Davis, CA. Hans-Peter worked as a senior scientist in Prof. Lührmann's department at the Institute for Molecular Biology and Tumor Research in Marburg and at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen, Germany. He joined Ribopharma AG, Germany, as Head of Biochemistry in 2001 and worked as Managing Director Research at Alnylam Europe AG and later at Roche Kulmbach GmbH before co-founding Axolabs GmbH in 2011 and acting as Managing Director Research again. Hans-Peter retired from management in 2022, but continues to work as Chief Scientific Officer in the company. With more than 20 years of experience in RNA research, he has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and book chapters and is a co-inventor on more than 30 patents.
